Description
Napahai is a wetland nature reserve that sits on the edge of the Tibetan Plateau. It is the winter refuge for the endangered Black Necked Cranes, which otherwise live in the frozen tundra. In this image, I feature the silhouette of one of these majestic creatures, wading and feeding in the shallows. It is set against the cool hues of the reflected landscape and sky, colors that only present themselves after the sun drops below the horizon.
Shangri-la County, Yunnan, China.
