Napahai is a wetland nature reserve that sits on the edge of the Tibetan Plateau. It is the winter refuge for the endangered Black Necked Cranes, which otherwise live in the frozen tundra. In this image, I feature the silhouette of one of these majestic creatures, wading and feeding in the shallows. It is set against the cool hues of the reflected landscape and sky, colors that only present themselves after the sun drops below the horizon.
Shangri-la County, Yunnan, China.

About the artist:

Photographs are my diary; they are my commentary.
They are stories that I want to share with you.
They are memories that I want to save for myself.

I am a travel and landscape photographer. I see wonder in the world, from breathtaking grand vistas to life’s quiet, private moments. Through my images, I hope you find something that speaks to you also.
