Description
I found these two Oriental pied hornbills in a local mangrove swamp, locking their bills in a playful manner. They are relatively large birds, measuring up to 60cm. These two were foraging among the trees for insects and shellfish.
About the artist:
My photography journey started more than 30 years ago and photography has been my creative outlet ever since.ย My subjects are quite diverse, ranging from landscape; macros; wildlife; to abstract. While I started taking photographs on film, I later moved on to digital photography in the late 2000sโ when that technology became more mature. Digital photography allowed me to take more photos and to edit them, allowing for more experiments and exploration. I have been spending more time on wildlife photography in the past few years. Observing and photographing nature gives me great pleasure and the ability to enjoy Earthโs natural beauty.
I use Nikon equipment for my photography. For wildlife, I relied on the Nikon D500 and D850 cameras with lenses such as the Nikkor 400mm f/2.8E; 200-500mm f/5.6E; 20mm f/1.8G; and 105mm f/2.8G. Accessories include a Sirui tripod and a Wimberley WH200 gimbal.
